October 2019 I was challenged to make a portrait for a birthday present. It imediately seemed a good idea.

I always ask for a high definition photo of the portraied to allow me to work with the most detail I can and, on this one, I truly had a great reference photo which allowed me to make one of my best portraits ever.

These are some photos of the process, on the first one you can see that I started painting the central area of the face and then expand to the other areas lefting the hair to end. The hair always requires six or seven layers of pencil and a tough bright work to make it seem real.
